Helping Others

My boys and I “went gluten-free” in October ’12 after years of consistent and persistent viruses, rashes, and infections. We were always sick, we looked sick, we couldn’t keep weight on. Very shortly after our lifestyle change, we saw incredible changes to our immune systems, sleep, overall health, and even our relationships with each other. Our family’s transformation was so drastic I knew I had to share my years of research and knowledge with others. I saw friends and family struggling and knew I could help. So, I became a Certified Health Coach to help others learn to navigate and embrace their new gluten-free lifestyle in a healthy manner. So they learn how to “go gluten free” and make healthy choices at the same time. They also find a life of confidence and peace of mind without going hungry or feeling deprived.

What do I Do?

Helping clients transition to a gluten-free or restricted way of eating that best supports their individual body and health issues is my passion. Together we discover the foods AND lifestyle habits that best support you and your own unique self.

A Holistic Approach

I value and practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat? Is lack of sleep cause your sugar cravings? Does your low energy prevent you from exercising? What is in your diet that is causing brain fog? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

Primary Food

You will learn that “health” is not just about the food you put in your body or the exercise you put out. “Health” is a delicate balance of the main components of your life. The thoughts you put IN your head. Your relationship with yourself and those around you. Your relationship with money and your career. And the respect you have for yourself to move and utilize our incredible and able bodies. 

Through your journey, I will equip you with the self-awareness to make the best decisions for yourself in any given circumstance. I understand that life happens and your needs will change so I work with my clients to get in touch with their body’s needs. I believe each person is capable of making well-informed decisions as their own expert, not the latest magazine article or Facebook post.

Honor Yourself

Over the years I have learned that IT’S ABOUT HONORING YOURSELF ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU A PRIORITY IN YOUR LIFE.

I have struggled with my allergies and food intolerances my entire life. I almost lost it when I had to “go gluten-free”. Gluten was my LIFE source! I wish I had someone to educate and guide me through the process of getting healthy and refining my diet to make it easier and more manageable. I had so many questions! Someone to:

  • Teach me that a “gluten-free diet” is not necessarily the best way to “go gluten-free”.
  • Show me the effects that sugar has on my body and why a “gluten-free diet” can actually increase your sugar consumption.
  • Help me figure out the food I should be eating that is right for just me.
  • Educate me on the correlation between diet and lifestyle.
  • Explain to me the correlation between gut health and gluten and why gut health is SO IMPORTANT.
  • Open my eyes to the connection between food and my mental and emotional state (and my children’s emotional and mental state also.)
  • Encourage me to set small goals to and cheer me on as I reached them.

Goal Setting

Let’s define what you value most from your well-being. We’ll use these visions to motivate specific goals that bring you closer to where you want to be. As your coach, I do not dictate a diet for you, but together we will explore why some foods make you feel better than others and how to strategically use that feedback. Together we’ll co-create your health goals within reasonable time frames and with easy, actionable objectives so that you know exactly what you’re working towards.

Throughout my education, I have been exposed to the most cutting-edge dietary theories. I also studied highly effective coaching techniques to help you find the right lifestyle that works best for you. Together we will work on finding the unique balance you need to support your new way of life. I am passionate about helping others find a way of eating and lifestyle that is perfect for their unique bio-individuality.
